Help?? Dan/Hyde

First off. I took my daughter to the Dr. on Saturday, she finished all her prescribed medicines today. She still coughs during the day, but I'm getting to sleep better at night and so is she.

Secondly. I'm not holding a grudge Mmmmm. I'm over it. I accepted your apology the first time you gave it to me. Next time you'll be more sensitive : ) Thanks for the compliment!

Here is my dilemna for Friday. I'm going out to eat at a hibache restaurant. I have no idea how to act or what to eat. There will be 9 of us and I think I am the only virgin that will be at the table/floor. Whatever. Help me out. What can I expect. I was asked if I'm going to have saki. The cook squirts it in your mouth I was told, wtf? What should I order? I've never had sushi, I'm not really up for that challenge, I was told I could have a steak. I really just want to know what to expect and what I could possible order of a menu. I know Hyde and Dan have eaten at these types of restaurants. Help guys.

those restaurants are really cool. you dont have to do anything special. you sit around the hibachi grill and they cook the food right in front of you. the cooks usually like to flip food into your mouth, saki is usually done in a shot, its real warm when u drink it. they ususally have a menu you can order from. they usually fry rice and noodles for everybody to share and then they cook everybody their dinners. they have menu's like a chinese restaurant. u can go to a site and look at one im sure, usually pretty small portions. steak and fish are popular. tempura and teriyaki are popular. just watch out for the scallops, lol. i like sushi myself but its not for everybody. i doubt you would like it though. give it a try if you see something you like. good luck and have fun. Mmmm

Mmmm. is right. I love hibachi. I like a steak and chicken combo, myself. They grill it. I love the noodles and rice too, although I am not so much for the veggies.

Don't worry about the flipping food, everyone gets it on themselves eventually (I have) its good for a giggle, so don't worry. Plus, the chefs have good aim. They are trained to do this.

If you don't get sake try plum wine, its very good. And cold.

You'll do fine. Tell us all about it. :)

It's pretty basic food-- just grilled meat and veggies. Saki is good-- it's just like wine with a different taste. It's not like being given a tequila shot or anything! As for sushi, you don't have to do sushi at hibache. But you should try sushi at some point. It's yum! Next time you come to NY, we should do a longer hang out and get dinner. Or, if I ever get my ass on the bus to come see you!

:)

Hibachi places don't normally offer sushi - indeed, the food isn't all that Japanese. It's good though, plus you get the fun of watching the dude flip shit around while he cooks. Typically I see steak, chicken, mixed veggies or shrimp on the grill (though your options may vary). Whatever you get, it's likely to be cut into small pieces which is necessary for the use of chopsticks but it's also good for sharing.

I've never had anyone shoot anything into my mouth though...?_? But please, at the risk of sounding snobbish, it's sake. There's no "I" sound.
